Annotation
The Edible Frog (Pelophylax kl. esculentus) is not a biological species, but a reproductive hybrid of the parent species Pool Frog (Pelophylax lessonae) and Marsh Frog (Pelophylax ridibundus). It has the characteristics of both parents in different forms and belongs with them to the water frog group. A description and detailed information on the differentiation of the members of the water frog group can be found in [1].
