Einordnung:
Amblyjoppa proteus gehört zur Unterfamilie Ichneumoninae.
Beschreibung:
Körperlänge 20 - 25 mm; schwarz; Flügelspitzen verdunkelt; Schildchen weiß oder cremefarbig.
Weibchen: Hinterbeine schwarz, Fühler mit weißem Band. Männchen: Hinterbeine mit weißen Bändern, Fühler ganz schwarz.
Ähnliche Arten:
Es gibt einige ähnliche, meist kleinere schwarze Arten.
Lebensweise:
Als Wirt der Larven von Amblyjoppa proteus ist der Mittlere Weinschwärmer (Deilephila elpenor) bekannt.
Die Schlupfwespenlarve entwickelt sich als Larven-Puppen-Parasitoid im Innern ihres Wirts. Die Wespe schlüpft später aus der Wirtspuppe.
