Einordnung:
Cantharis pellucida gehört zur Unterfamilie Cantharinae.
Verbreitung:
Europa (Nord-, Mittel- und Osteuropa) bis Sibirien.
In ganz Mitteleuropa häufig.
Lebensraum:
Wiesen, Waldränder, Hecken
Beschreibung:
Körperlänge 10 - 13,5 mm; Halsschild einfarbig rotgelb, breiter als lang und schmaler als die Flügeldecken in Schulterbereich; Flügeldecken schwarz mit gleichförmiger Behaarung; Hinterkopf schwarz; Vorderkopf rotgelb; Schenkel und Vorderbeine größtenteils rotgelb; Knie, Schienen und Tarsen der Mittel- und Hinterbeine angedunkelt bis schwarz.
Lebensweise:
Die Imagines von Cantharis pellucida erscheinen in Deutschland etwa ab Ende April und sind bis Juli anzutreffen. Ihre Hauptflugzeit ist im Mai und Juni. Sie sind häufig auf den Blüten von Weißdorn und Doldenblütlern bei einer Nektar- und Pollenmahlzeit oder bei der Jagd auf kleine Insekten anzutreffen. Die räuberisch lebenden Cantharis pellucida-Larven jagen Schnecken, verschiedene Gliederfüßer und weitere kleine Bodenbewohner.
Natürliche Feinde:
Die Bilder von 2006 zeigen eine Krabbenspinne der Gattung Xysticus mit ihrer Käferbeute.
