Distribution:

Habitat:
Deciduous and coniferous forests.
Description:
Females of Theridion pinastri reach a body length of 2.5 to 3.5 mm, males of 2.25 to 2.75 mm. The prosoma (front body) is brownish yellow. On the opisthosoma (rear body) there is a red longitudinal band with wavy edges. On both sides of the longitudinal band the Opisthosoma is brown with net-like white spots. The light brownish-yellow legs show a dark ring pattern.
Biology:
Theridion pinastri prefers to live in drier forests and heath areas. The species builds its web to catch insects on trees and bushes and waits for prey in a sheldered hiding place.
Mature animals can be found from May, females until October and males until July.
