Classification:
Altica sp. belongs to the subfamily Galerucinae, tribe Alticini.
Note:
Since there are some similar species in the genus, a closer determination was not possible.
The larvae shown here were found on willowherbs. The pupae which were bright yellowish after stripping off the larva skin, have taken on a slightly darker colour before the beetles hatched. The bright elytra of the freshly hatched beetles darkened in the next few hours. One day later the beetles were fully coloured.
