Classification:
Hyperaspis concolor belongs to the subfamily Scymninae, tribe Hyperaspidini.
Distribution:
Europe, Iran.
Habitat:
Xerothermal sites, such as neglected grassland.
Description:
Body length approx. 3 mm; upper side glabrous; shiny; body shape strongly rounded; pronotum black with reddish side edges, close to the base of the elytra; elytra completely black and unspotted; legs yellow, only hind femora with dark cross band.
Biology:
The larvae and adults of Hyperaspis concolor live predatory. They feed on scale insects and aphids.
