Throughout the Afrotropical region and into North Africa to the coast of the Mediterranean and Yemen; southern Spain, southern Italy, the Balearic Islands and the Canaries.Habitat:
Open thinly-vegetated dry ground with shrubs, open areas in woodland.Description:
Biology:
The species flies in North Africa and the Canary Islands all year round. The female shown here has visited the yellow flowers of Reseda lancerotae.The larvae live predatory and feed mainly on aphids and trips.
