Phylum Arthropoda (Arthropods) ➔ Subphylum Hexapoda (Hexapods) ➔ Class Insecta (Insects) ➔ Order Diptera (True flies) ➔ Family Syrphidae (Hoverflies)
Syrphus sp. Fabricius, 1775
Classification:
Syrphus sp. belongs to the subfamily Syrphinae, tribe Syrphini.Annotation:
The images from 2016 show the development from larva to hoverfly. The size of the hatched fly is 10 mm. Unfortunately, there are some similar looking species in the Syrphini, so that no species determination is possible by the photos alone. The male should belong to the genus Syrphus. In addition to the overall impression, its size, the late flight time, and the appearance of the larva speak for that genus.
