The larvae shown here, about 3 mm in size, hatched from galls at a willow leaf, which were produced by the sawfly
Euura proxima.
Both larvae of
Archarius crux and
Archarius salicivorus live on willow and develop as parasites in the galls of sawfly genera
Euura and
Pontania.
