On 7 June 2026, I found the teardrop-shaped pupa of a hoverfly, shown here and measuring approximately 8 mm in length, in the Harthwald in Chemnitz. Its appearance did not change over the course of the following days. On 21 June, I discovered a very nimble wasp in the container with the pupa. It had emerged from the pupa through a small exit hole. The wasp, with a forewing length of approximately 4.2 mm, probably belongs to the Ichneumonidae subfamily Phygadeuontinae.
